Is OWWA membership mandatory?
Yes. All documented OFWs with a valid OEC (Overseas Employment Certificate) are required OWWA members.
How long is OWWA membership valid?
2 years or the duration of your employment contract, whichever comes first.
Can I renew while abroad?
Yes. Renew at the nearest POLO or online at the OWWA e-Registration portal.
What education benefit can my children get?
Scholarships of ₱10,000–₱50,000 per year for college, plus skills training programs for OFW family members.
Can family claim death benefits from the Philippines?
Yes. File at any OWWA regional office with death certificate, OWWA membership certificate, and relationship documents.
Does OWWA cover work injuries abroad?
Yes through workers insurance. Also file with POLO and NLRC for serious injuries or illegal dismissal.
