What is optional vs technical retirement?
Optional: at age 60 with 120+ contributions. Technical: mandatory at age 65. Both give monthly pension.
Can I work after claiming SSS retirement?
Optional retirees (age 60) cannot return to SSS-covered employment. At 65, you may continue working.
What if I have less than 120 contributions?
You receive a one-time lump sum equal to your total contributions plus interest instead of monthly pension.
How is the monthly pension computed?
Highest of: ₱300 + 20% of AMSC + 2% per year beyond 10 years; or 40% of AMSC; or minimum ₱1,200/₱2,400.
Can my family receive benefits after I die?
Yes. Your spouse and children receive survivorship pension equal to 100% of your monthly pension.
Can I get both SSS and GSIS pension?
Yes, if you worked in both private and government sectors. They are separate programs.
